Shannon M. Wickenden is a seasoned paralegal having more than thirty years of experience in various legal areas including adoption, assisted reproduction technology, estate planning, probate, guardianship, name changes, business formation, collections, and real estate. She also has experience in all aspects of law office administration.

She began her career as a college intern at Martin, Shudt, Wallace, DeLorenzo, Copps and Johnson prior to graduating from The Sage Colleges in 1992. She was offered a full-time position upon graduating, as paralegal for the managing partner, Attorney Anne Reynolds Copps.

Shannon is a New York State Certified Paralegal and Notary Public. She works with Attorneys Kathleen (“Casey”) Copps DiPaola and Joseph Williams and focuses primarily on the areas of adoption. She enjoys helping the clients and being there for them every step of the way.

Shannon is passionate about the adoption work she does. She has extensive experience in all areas of adoption including private agency placements, public agency (foster care) placements, private placement infant adoptions, including placements involving the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC), adult adoptions, stepparent adoptions and second parent adoptions.

She has written and had articles published on the topics of adoption and real estate. She has volunteered at various legal clinics and organizations in her hometown. She is a member of the Capital District Paralegal Association.

Shannon resides in Hoosick Falls, New York with her husband and their two sons, Samuel, and Andrew. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, collecting rocks at the river and then painting them and placing them randomly to create smiles.
